Hasan Elahi is Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Arizona Arts at the University of Arizona. As an artist, his work examines surveillance, privacy, citizenship, migration, borders, and demographic change. His projects have been presented at venues including the Venice Biennale, the Gwangju Biennale, SITE Santa Fe, the Centre Georges Pompidou, and the Sundance Film Festival. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Wired, Fox News, Al Jazeera, and The Colbert Report. Elahi has spoken at the World Economic Forum, TED, National Geographic, and Tate Modern. His honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, an Alpert/MacDowell Fellowship, grants from Creative Capital and the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art, and the Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Award.
